Happy Brazilian Valentines Day!
June 12th is the day Brazilians celebrate Dia dos Namorados, roughly equivalent to our valentines day. Incidentally, back in the early days of this blog, I posted about this and included an image which has become one of the top images in Google for "dia dos namorados". Consequently, the hits on my site have gone up exponentially in the last few weeks.
Not exactly what I had in mind for the target audience of the blog, but hey, we take what we can get.
In the spirit of the day, I cannot miss this opportunity to wish a happy "Dia dos Namorados" to the lovely and talented Itacyara, aka The Brazilian Bombshell.
So...my best Valentines' Day present so far? The tie between England and the US in their 2010 World Cup debut.

Yeah, and I was pretty happy with a tie. One Brazilian commented to me today, "Hey, the US has a fighting team this year." They are amazed at the American squad's progress.

I am unabashedly supporting BRASIL!!!! Yep, some people are questioning me. Too bad. I did pull for the US vs. England. But Brasil #1. I can hardly wait to live there (Lord willing).

I just hope there it doesn't come down to a Brazil/USA match. Those are Purgatory-on-Earth for me.

Aww... great photo.
Predictions? Gotta believe in the yellow and green! :) Seriously- I was in dire straits today... an American living in a British territory- couldn't have ended better for me!
