Bah!
I cannot belive it happened again! France (France!) takes Brazil out of the World Cup. Of course, the Brazilians have been playing like timid little girls, so what were we to expect, right?
Needless to say, it is very subdued around here. There are two big benefits to this loss:
1) I will be able to get a good night's sleep, unhindered by firecrackers and loud music.
2) There will be no more schedule disruptions due to the whole country stopping to watch a soccer game.
Still, I am pretty melancholy right now. I really wanted Brazil to go all the way, and to see them beaten by France (why, oh why, did it have to be France?!?) really adds inslut to injury.
Quick diagnostic for the Brazilian team: GET A NEW COACH!!! Preferable, Big Phil, the Brazilian who took them to last year's world cup. He is currently coaching the Portuguese team, which will play in the semi-finals. He could take them all the way. He is just that good.
Sorry I have rambled. I'm going to bed now.

That is your opinion...and that of over 180 million Brazilians.
At least now Brazilians have one thing in common with Americans--neither of us much care for the French.

We were quite sad as well. France...agh...But I really thought that Brazil didn't put up a good fight. But that's just my opinion.
